Recently my Michigan gallery, Water Street Gallery in Douglas, MI invited local authors to select a piece of artwork in the gallery and write about it. I am delighted to share with you the work of Professor Kenegy. He selected my encaustic monotype, Wyoming #9. Reprinted with permission. Space Gallery opens July 30 with Beyond the Plane

I have been painting new work for my upcoming show with Space Gallery in Denver. The recent artist residency I enjoyed in Makawao, HI provided inspiration and insights into the local scene. I have had the opportunity to travel to Maui several times over the past 5 or 6 years but this time I lived upcountry and no where near the tourist areas. I got to know many locals and found the low-key spots where the locals go- off the beaten track beaches, the grocery store, the laundromat, hardware store….
