Wonderful news to tell you about during these warm summer months. My painting, Odyssey, has recently been acquired by collectors living in Michigan. Odyssey was inspired by an early morning snorkel/dive trip to the partially submerged volcanic crater islet, Molokini. Aboard the first catamaran leaving the harbor we set sail for the crater. The still and absolutely quiet site caught me totally by surprise as I jumped into the warm waters off Maui. From a distance I observed a cornucopia of colorful fish of all sizes, stripes, spots, and shapes swimming in and around underwater formations and caverns.
With my minds eye I made a point to capture the place, color, and sensation. Later upon returning to my Colorado studio from Hawaii, I translated this extraordinary experience onto panels with pigmented beeswax and mixed media. Odyssey is 80 x 80 inches and framed.
